The mountains of Ararak
In the beginning, there are the snowy filled mountains of Ararak. It encompassed the whole known World beyond the land of Egypt. It is located in the Northeastern side of Egypt. There, pine trees abound laden with snow and ice. There are a few vegetation but very few. The underworld full of animals are inhabited by large hares, smaller rabbits, mice, and several feet below are crocodiles circling about a ravine full of muddy, icy water.
The mountains itself are so majestic atop the hills of Xenon in the land of Egypt. It is higher than any of the mountains surrounding the NorthWestern part of Africa. It bore its name from a Goddess that fulfilled ancient magical arts and temptation among the bearers of her most prized possession, the Scorpion ring. It is said that whoever wears the Scorpion ring becomes so powerful that any mortal or immortal dare not venture in its palace for it is sanctified and perhaps cursed.
So, as the civilization of Egypt began in 330 BC, the first ruler King, Uphet wore the ring and is said to have floated in air and flew the skies and became a shadow figure in front of his wife who screamed in awe and surprise of his ghostly shadow figure.
Uphet was a venerable man. Upbeat, respected, and with gentlemanly manners, the King was one of Egypt's best ruler. But, his jealousy over the neighboring country of Iraq proved to be inevitable. Iraq was 10 times larger than Egypt and their army of young men and women proved to be wearisome. But, Iraq's ruler did not have any magical powers unlike Uphet, the Scorpion King. Even though Iraq's ruler, Jamal ascends to Hell to see the divine Devil God, Bahala, his people still do not trust their ruler on many affairs.
So, Jamal vowed to seek vengeance on Uphet, putting him out of misery once and for all. Or did he.
One day, Jamal slipped by the courtyard of Uphet's bedroom and closely tip-toed his way to steal the ring from the vanity and mirror that is in Uphet's bedroom. Alas, it is not there. It was on Uphet's finger. "Darn", Jamal said. "Damn bastard got his ring worn day and night", Jamal uttered.
So, the next day, Jamal thought of convincing Uphet's wife to give him the ring and in exchange, he will not put a strain on Uphet's people about any looming conquest of their Kingdom.
So, the next night, Queen Izabelle, Uphet's wife took the ring from her husband's finger and the next day, gave it to Jamal. Jamal tried every magical spell there is on their library, but nothing. No "poof" or no "kazam". The ring was a fraud.
When Uphet learned of this, he burned his wife at the stake for conspiracy and sought solace in the ring. Everyday, he mourned the loss of his beloved wife inspite of anger and betrayal. Then, a fairy went to Uphet's bedroom one day and told him the reason why Queen Izabelle carried out the task of getting the ring from her husband's finger. When he found out the truth, he weeped and weeped for days, weeks, months, years, until he was outcasted by his own son, Queen Izabelle and King Uphet's son, Jethro and overthrew his father from his Kingdom.
Uphet walked the desert for days without water or meal. He called to the Devil God, Bahala that if he would give him water and a meal and a new Palace that he would devote his entire life in pleasing the God. And lo, and behold, water erupted from where he was standing, soon, vegetation, and a new palace shaped like a Pyramid with a Golden Crown.
So, every night, as the moon is high and owls perched upon a tree calling out for Uphet and the wolves cry at night, you can see, King Uphet's shadow lurking behind for his ghostly shadow never rested in peace. He is still alive today as is.
